What is the best shampoo and conditioner for dry color treated hair?

I alsolutely love Clairol Herbal Essences Color Me Happy. What is the best shampoo and conditioner for dry color treated hair?
k-pak by joico. it has worked wonders for me! also their protect and shine serum works great if you use a lot of heat.
Redken
I personally use the Loreal Colorvive line....
GARNIER.......Its the best and works for me...!!!!
pantene, its colorsafe, gentle, great moisturizer, and it smells good too.
dove weightless moisturizer shamp. and cond. for color treated hair.

ITS THE BEST WITHOUT PAYING TONS OF MONEY.
I like Dove--intense moisture.
Pantene or Fructisse
Something that you discover on your own. Try mixing up different products that has oil and moisture . Something that will not dry out the hair. My aunt did it years ago. It not only kept the hair moist and soft, it also grew it!
I've tried all those expensive brands and some work, others were a complete waste of money. The best by far is Feria Conditioner from the beauty supply store-- it's the same stuff you find in Feria Coloring Kits. You can get a good size tube for around 8 bucks. It's super moisturizing, a class above the rest.
Cream of Nature... it's a moisturizing shampoo w/Conditioner already in it. They have regular and one for dry/brittle hair. Either works good. I swear by it. Then I use Doo Grow Stimulating Oil to blow dry it.
best of the best... Aveda color concoius line. grocery store brands are full of animal fat, salt, plastics, and wax. Your hair takes a beating with chemicals and we all know that dosnt look good on anyone.

Aveda, Pureology, Paul Mitchell, Burts Bees etc, are all cruelty free, as in not tested on your featherd and furry friends. Aveda is 100% organic (and maks your hair just unbelieveably great feeling), Pureology is Vegan, meaningNO animal prioducts at all, Paul Mitchell is cruelty free, and burts bees is all natural and cruelty free as well. Using profesional natutal products is much much better for your hair, and all around better in general.

Is it really necessary to use shampoo and conditioner especially designed for color treated hair?

Dyed at home, not in a salon. Why or why not? Would a moisturizing shampoo/conditioner work just as well? If you read the label, most shampoo ingredients are all the same.Is it really necessary to use shampoo and conditioner especially designed for color treated hair?
Plain and simple: you do not need to use a ';special shampoo'; for colour treated hair. If you're happy with your own shampoo/conditioner, use it!Is it really necessary to use shampoo and conditioner especially designed for color treated hair?
If your hair is chemically- treated ( color or perm) then you need to use the shampoo and conditioner that reflects that style. Moisturizing shampoo and conditioner can be used for this type of hair, but it is generally used for very dry, damaged hair. If your hair has been colored at a professional salon, more than likely, it is in really good condition, so you should use shampoo / conditioner for the color.

Hope that helps ya!
i couldn't tell you why, but when i got my hair tinted my hairdresser got me some special joico shampoo and conditioner to use. i would suggest using special stuff.

  • Do I still have to use a shampoo/conditioner to protect color from bleached hair?

I bleached my hair and I was wondering will my color stay or would I still need a shampoo/conditioner to make my color last longer?

Someone told me since I didn't dye it, the color will stay and not fadeDo I still have to use a shampoo/conditioner to protect color from bleached hair?
You should or else your bleaching will eventually and not to mention quicker than usual, fade away.

It all happens through a process with your hair that you don't even notice it.

But sooner or later you recognize that your hair isn't as vivid as its color in which you dye it.

Also using a good, high quality product for the hair in your color stay is an ideal idea, because not only does it protect, it helps it stay more vibrant and healthy!Do I still have to use a shampoo/conditioner to protect color from bleached hair?

bleaching cant fade because it removes colour from the hair, however it can get dull with build up and turn yellow so use a purple toned shampoo to protect from brassiness. john frieda does one i think. good luck, hope i helped x
you can buy shampoo that matches you new hair color. Tresemme has a lot of variety and it enhances your hair color and your hair.
Nope. Bleach doesn't fade. It actually strips your hair of it's color and pigment, So there's no need for shampoo.
try a shampoo for damaged or dry hair instead....

Matrix Biolage Color Care shampoo or Tresemme Color Revitalize shampoo?

which one is better for keeping the color lasting longer ?Matrix Biolage Color Care shampoo or Tresemme Color Revitalize shampoo?
Matrix. Matrix is the BEST product you could ever by. I actually just bought some of that, and it works great...... I used Tresemme once and it really greased up my hair

But just to say, No shampoo can really hold color, The color care shampoo is more of a 'precation'.Matrix Biolage Color Care shampoo or Tresemme Color Revitalize shampoo?
Definately the Biolage. Biolage is by Matrix and Matrix has a great color line so of course their products would be great for colored hair - since they recommend them for use with their own color line! Biolage has a specific line for color treated hair called Colorcaretherapie.
you should try using Unicure Hair and Skin Conditioner 3-4+ times daily as both a leave in and wash out conditioner its grease less, perfume, fragrance, and color free. Works for EVERYTHING related to Hair Or Skin from Clearing Acne to Keeping hair healthy, shiny. Thick, dandruff free, and so much more... available at www.unicure.com it has been around since 1973 formulated in the '50's in Denmark. The website has tons of beauty tips and testimonials plus was #1 selling hair conditioner in US and Canada they have a full line of hair care products. Definitely the best! and a very reasonable price about $5 a bottle 12oz.

don't use the matrix!! I used it once and it made my hair dry, brittle, and horribly tangled and nasty.

i've used tresemme before and it works good but will still strip the color from your hair eventually.

I personally use catwalk now and I love it but when i'm tight on money-I'll switch back to pantene (the brunette one) b/c it keeps my hair healthy and doesn't dull my color.

i have baby fine hair that tangles easily and the pantene and catwalk both work really well.
Tresemme ALL THE WAY. best cheapie ever!

    also, garnier fructis have this new treatment you put in between shampooing and conditioning. it has no leave-in time at all, you just lather it in your hair like you do with shampoo, and rinse it out, so its no effort to use and there is one especially for colour-locking. its worked well for me and its not expensive... about $5 a bottle which lasts a while coz you only need it about every 2nd or 3rd wash after the first week. its called ';instant melt in mask - colour last';

if your blonde, and dont have alot of money for products, the one thing i would recommend investing in, is a good from home toner. your blond will always look brilliant between salon visits, even if you leave it for months! Goldwell has a foam toner, its about $15 - $20 a can but will last you ages as you would only need to use it once a month, or once a fortnight for extremely difficult hair. Your hair will always look bright and ';just coloured'; even if all your other products are cheapies. there are other brands and kinds of toner, visit a salon after youve saved up, they range from $15 - $40 a pop and are WORTH IT! will work a million times better than the best coloured hair shampoo and conditioner.
    tresemme

Does anyone recommend a shampoo to keep a dark burgundy color in your hair?

I recently dyed my hair burgundy and the color keeps coming out slowly when i wash my hair.. My hair stylist dyed it again for me and recommended to try to find a shampoo for burgundy hair. Anyone know of any? I cant seem to find any on the internet. Thank you!Does anyone recommend a shampoo to keep a dark burgundy color in your hair?
I have colored hair too. I use the color smart shampoo.

http://www.realgoddess.net/images/goddes鈥?/a>Does anyone recommend a shampoo to keep a dark burgundy color in your hair?
John Frieda Radiant Red Color Keep Anti-Fade Shampoo.

Here some tips for making color last:

1.Wash you hair with cold water instead of warm water.

    2. Don't wash your hair with shampoo every day, instead just condition it. And only shampoo 3-4 times a week.

    3. Adding some dye to your conditioner will replenish your color everytime you wash it.

    4. Use shampoos and conditioners that are made for color treated hair.

    5. Avoid being in the sun for long periods of time, it'll fade your color.
John Frienda Radiant Red Shampoo and Conditioner. They also have a glaze that you can use after you shampoo that will restore some color without having to dye it again. You can get it at CVS or walgreens or just about any drug or department store. I had red hair for a long time and its very hard to maintain the color. the best thing you can do to keep your color is to avoid excessive heat, wash your hair as little as possible and keep your hair out the sun. (Sunlight kills red hair)Johnfrieda.com, Goodstylist.com = search for MzNita
yes main and tail works great keep in contact

Is it okay to shampoo your hair after applied the color applicator for a required amount of time ?

On the bottle's instruction, it's only tell to rinse hair then apply the conditioner. I am wondering can I shampoo my hair first and then apply the conditioner ?Is it okay to shampoo your hair after applied the color applicator for a required amount of time ?
I am not familiar with box color, because I use professional products only, but when we do color, we always shampoo it out after processing. You risk leaving color in that will break off your hair if not rinsed out properly. Is it okay to shampoo your hair after applied the color applicator for a required amount of time ?
After you rinse the excess colour out yes go right ahead.
    It's un-necessary.

    Just use the conditioner
Depends on how badly you want the intensity of the color. If your have to wash it, go ahead and don't worry about it. If your worried about fading a bright red or something just use a red color conditioner to continue depositing and to keep it from fading out..
No because the color has to fully set before you wash it.
    DO NOT SHAMPOO.

The dye has already stripped your hair of any oil and dirt. Shampooing will only wash away the color. Follow the instructions and use the conditioner provided.
shampoo stripes your hair of the dye so that would be a big no no but if you dont like the color wash with shampoo and it will lighten it up but not remove it all completly. so just use conditioner and not shampoo until the next time you wash your mop.
dont shampoo it, just rinse it until the water runs clear and then use the conditioner
I color my hair all the time and I wash mine after I color it because I just feel better when I do, it never washed out my color and then I use the conditioner included after (it is the best.)

Is aussie opposites attract shampoo safe for color treated hair?

I have color treated hair and it doesnt say on the bottle wether aussie opposits attrack or cleanse and mend are safe for colored hairIs aussie opposites attract shampoo safe for color treated hair?
Yes it's fine :)Is aussie opposites attract shampoo safe for color treated hair?
it depends on what kind of hair you have, straight or curly, my opinion on aussie is NOOOOOO, i kno a lot of people who hate it because it drys the hair too much and it breaks off the hairs so it actually messes up your hair more than it already is, my advice is try a product called WEN, its all natural, it has all kinds of good stuff for hair, ever since i started using it, my hair has been getting and lookin healthyer, longer, less dry, and the color even stays in tact, either WEN or you can also use treseme, its also good for the hair.
yes it fine, my mom uses it.

What shampoo should I use for color treated hair?

so about a week ago I colored my hair deep red, but now its fading to a bright bright red. Im using pantine shampoo and conditionar just for colored hair but it seems to not be working. can i have some tips on how to keep my color from fading all the way to orange or pink. its really getting me mad. thank ya!What shampoo should I use for color treated hair?
THE BEST answer I can give you, is to go to, or call a beautician and ask them what products to use for your exact hair type. It also makes a difference if it's permanent or not.

Everyone has different hair, so you might not get a clear answer on here, so explaining your situation to a beautician would be of more help. What shampoo should I use for color treated hair?
try ';color me happy'; by herbal essences. it is made for people with color- treated hair. ;)
Use TRESemme. I love it. If that fails, go to your salon, and ask for advice.

    %26lt;3
it's best to use a COLOR SAFE or COLOR PROTECTING shampoo, as these types of shampoos contain little or no amounts of ingredients that can tend to strip color and dye out of your hair. There are two products I can recommend.

Abba Color Protecting Shampoo is vegan. yeay! way low on the chemicals and made specially for color treated hair

    http://green-hair-products.com/Abba/abba鈥?/a>

or, more specifically, Altobella makes a RED Color Enhancing Shampoo that is supposed to control hair color fadage without using heavy stains or dyes and refresh hair color with each application. It's like 7 bucks, so it's worth a try.

  • Best color shampoo and conditioner?

In your opinion, what are the best shampoo and conditioner for maintaining color? Every time I get my hair dyed, the color fades within 2 weeks. The price doesn't matter.

BTW I've tried most drugstore ones and they didn't work.Best color shampoo and conditioner?

Your hair color stays pure even after 32 washes! It's true!

You can buy it at drug stores for about $8 a bottle.

    :]Best color shampoo and conditioner?
Hey. The products I'm going to mention are going to be pretty pricey, but it depends on the area you live in.

I have a few shampoos that are fantastic at maintaining color. These are all my sister's advice because I don't dye my hair, but she does and went to cosmetology school.

Pureology has some really great shampoos. NanoWorks is super popular (I've used this, too, and I can safely say it is essential, even though pricey), or Hydration.

Bumble %26amp; Bumble should hold color well, too.

Frederic Fekkai is one of my favorites. The kind of color-treated hair or the Protein Rx would be the best on your hair.

Tip: Sulfates on your hair can fade or damage your scalp. Sodium laureth sulfate is actually a degreaser and is really cheap for companies to get and process.

Quality shampoo for color treated hair?

I just recently got highlights and lowlights. I love the contrast of it, which is why I want to keep the color from fading as long as possible.

What's a good shampoo for color-treated hair that actually works? One that helps to volumize too would be a plus. (My hair gets weighed down easily it seems.)

I like salon-quality shampoo..at least for a few weeks after it's first colored. I've used Redken for color-treated hair. Anything else that works well?Quality shampoo for color treated hair?
I use Redken Color Extend and also the Pantene Color Experessions and it doesn't seem to weigh the hair down. My Hiardresser suggested mixing the two together half and half and that works great.Quality shampoo for color treated hair?
the best ive used is redken for color treated. but other good ones are john frieda and infusium 23.

I think Garnier Fructis would work good for color treated hair. Hope this helped!
use ganier shamppo for color hair
    garnier fructisse
    defiently dont use herbal essence
infusium 23...or pantene proV...or biolage might have some for color treated hair (thats the one with the leaf on the front)
Color Vive by Lorel. You can get it at Wal-mart or target, it is pretty cheap. You can also get it to match your hair i.e. volume, curly all that good stuff
L'oreal professional. Expensive but super good.
    johnson %26amp; johnson baby shampoo.

Does Paul Mitchell Shampoo Two strip the color out of your hair?

Tresemme made a really big difference on my hair! so i went and bought a tresemme heat defence spray as well which is also really really good !

If you straighten your hair or use any heat appliance i would definately recomend tresemme heat defence spray, i wouldnt use a straightener without it now. =3

Garnier fructis have good leave in conditioners, but my hair goes oily when i use a leave in conditioner so i will just use a frizz deffence/detangler spray =3

    Hope i helped!
My hair is fake blonde (i dye my hair too).

'Garnier colour lock' dries out your hair. DO NOT USE THAT!. i used too and alot of my hair broke. also sunsilk dries out your hair. i also used to use that.

There is this stuff i use called 'RedKen colour extend', my hairdresser, who has won heaps of awards and has got in magazines, recomended it to me. (and it is used at her hairdressers place, too, called Biba.

it dosent dry out your hair, and it dosent make your hair frizz or break. it even makes the colour look natural. how cool! i love it.
buy one specially for colour hair. Also anti-frizz sunsilk conditioner but this could wash out your colour. Go to the chemist and talk to the ladies there. PS sorry if spelling colour with the u annoys you its just that im from Australia
My sister is a hairdresser so she always dyes my hair and picks a good shampoo and conditioner the best are hair salon ones but Schwartzkopf's is also an excellent choice.

it is rather pricey, but works very well.
    try garnier

Can I mix color with shampoo to make a 'Shampoo Cap'?

I had a stylist do this to my hair recently, and the color was very even and rich. They mixed the color treatment with shampoo, worked it in like you would in the bath, (a lot of lather) put a plastic cap on and placed me under the dryer for a about 7 minutes.

Can I do this myself? I seemed very easy?

Is there a certain ';shampoo'; I can use, or any will do?

you can try, but if you're not entirely sure, then ask the stylist about it just in case you do something wrong or sumthin...

I use a lot of products because I straighten my hair, but I also color it. I do not want the color to be stripped out. well this will sound gross and i honestly dont know if this is good for color treated hair but try using white vinigar to get rid of build up dont make it an everyday thing i guess and i guess you shouldnt totally submurse your hair in the stuff either i dunno sorry
i use sunsilk it smells soooo good! so try that!
Try using a color safe shampoo . But i think biolage has a line for color but still will clean your hair well. Go to a salon that sells that and see what you can find. Good Luck
The absolute best is the new brand called Organix. It has organic active ingredients and is sulfate free so it wont dry out your hair, plus...it smells awesome! They have different collections for different hair types which are all amazing! You can get Organix at Target, Kroger, Albertsons, Duane Reade, Safeway, etc. You'll love it!!!

What's a good shampoo and conditioner to strip permanent color from hair?

I dyed my hair black and I need to strip the color from it. Thanks! What's a good shampoo and conditioner to strip permanent color from hair?
you need to go into a beauty supply and ask for a color stripping shampoo. Its usually a two step process, i dyed some of my hair pink, and stripped it, it worked pretty well.

And after stripping it, get pantene purity clarifying shampoo. What's a good shampoo and conditioner to strip permanent color from hair?
Harsh shampoos arent going to strip it, at least not in a noticeable way for a very long time (think : at least a year of using Prell or Pert Plus to get it to a reddish dark muddy brown color). For black, you have to use a stripper.
Ooops. Been there! I know it sounds harsh but if you did this within the last day or two you need to use a detergent. No shampoo is harsh enough to remove it. Use a dish washing soap made for hand washing dishes like Dawn. It is made to cut grease and grim and it will help cut through your color. Wash 2-3 times in a row with it for the next week or so and CONDITION, CONDITION, CONDITION so that your hair doesn't get parched. Good Luck!

you should try thermasilk moisture infusing shampoo and conditioner
herbal essence for color treated and dry hair. duhh
    pantene pro-v
ok, i read the other answers, and i would have to say that garnier fructiesse has been the best for me so far. it leaves my hair really soft!!!
Paul Mitchell and/or Biolage works best for me
I find that it's best to use hot oil treatments occasionaly as coloured hair can be dry and dull from the strong chemicals in products such as Loreal/

Keratse are a liuttle expensive but really good, invest in their intense hair conditioner which really works on dry listless hair.
I love the Loreal Vive for color treated hair, and they make a conditioner that's incredible for dry hair!
Alberto VO5's Passion Fruit shampoo and conditioner.

But the best is Tres' Semme. It makes your hair soft and manageable while giving your hair blinding luster.
try GARNIER fructies fortifying shampoo for colored hair, you simply love that product
I would try Dove Shampoo. I color my hair and it seems as if thats the only shampoo thats works well on me.
A Product called ';Nixiom'; it's expensive but really works they have shampoo and conditioner and a whole entire line of other great products.
Hmmm... I have the same problem as you. I suggest using Dove, Pantene or Garnier Fructis. Instead of focusing on smells, they focus on making your hair into good shape. Avoid using Loreal and Herbal Essences, too much chemicals in them that damage your hair severley.

As a tip, change your shampoo/conditioner daily, once you use it too often it doesn't work well anymore, because your hair is so used to it.

    I suggest doing

1 month Dove, next Pantene, next Garnier Fructis, then Dove and so on...

Good luck on figuring out the ideal shampoo/conditioner!

    =)

What shampoo can i use for color treated hair and to enhance my curls?

I just got my hair highlighted, and i don't know what shampoo and conditioner to use to help the color stay in well....also, i have naturally curly hair and i want to enhance the curls. I don't want a super expensive shampoo though...suggestions??What shampoo can i use for color treated hair and to enhance my curls?
    old spice shower gel...

I know it is not shampoo , but it usually works as a shampoo and conditiner and shampoo as one,

I know some one who does this to enhance their curls.. The scent disappers in a few moments... Do not put perfume over it through.. it may ruin ur hair for good!!!

It is a very in-expense thing.!.What shampoo can i use for color treated hair and to enhance my curls?
you can this one shampoo that i use called wash n' curl shampoo. its about $9.95 online you can order it. it works for me.
they had a comercial other day with Eva longoria for haircolor. to keep color longer go to store youll see it like dark pink %26amp; silver tube- bottles... smaller not like big bottle of shampoo..
biore is always good for my highlighted hair

What is the best shampoo to keep brunette hair color from fading?

well, i am a brunette and i use pantene! it is amazing and smells rlly good! lolWhat is the best shampoo to keep brunette hair color from fading?
Fructis color shield shampoo. What is the best shampoo to keep brunette hair color from fading?
You can't keep your hair from fading...Even with shampoo, It doesn't help.

Which color tinted shampoo/conditioner should i use if i have caramel highlights and i have black hair?

i just had my hair highlighted with caramel highlights and i love it...but i am scared whether they might fade or become dull...i bought pantene pro -v highlighting expressions for blonde highlights.....do you think this is good?....or should i go for other products...and if i use a shampoo for color treated hair..do i also have to use a conditionor too?...Which color tinted shampoo/conditioner should i use if i have caramel highlights and i have black hair?
If you want to keep your highlights looking bright %26amp; fresh I would suggest switching shapoos. The pantene shampoo you are using has very harsh ingredients, which will strip your hair of the color more rapidly, and can dry out your tresses! I would suggest something like John Frieda which is a little more pricey, but can still be purchased at a drug store or wal mart. John frieda makes a specific shampoo %26amp; conditioner for blondes/highlights, which contains much better ingredients. I would suggest using the same brand shampoo %26amp; conditioner, however it is not necessary.

For future reference, look for these ingredients in your shampoo, it will most likely be the second ingredient.

    Sodium laureth- most gentle

    Sodium lauryl- gentle

    Ammonium laureth- harsh

Ammonium lauryl- Most harshWhich color tinted shampoo/conditioner should i use if i have caramel highlights and i have black hair?
If they used color for the highlights, you need a color shampoo to try to keep it from fading, if they used bleach for the highlight, then they wont fade out to much, they may get lighter in the sun but they wont go away. As for pantene, its really bad for your hair. It actually has tiny wax/plastic particles in it that will build up on your hair. My favorite color care shampoo is Redken Color Care, its good, alittle more money but professional products are more concentrated then store ones which means you only need like half the amount. Also they work better so you dont have to get the color done as soon, so it does even out for the price. If you dont want a professional product I would say the john frieda (yes blondes kind is fine) or a color care from garnier fruitis is decent also.

    no not really

Where can I get the shampoo ';color oops'; and for how much?

well this is quite funny because i used it on my friend just yesterday

we got it from rite aid for about $12

her hair is naturally dark brown but she dyed it black and then wanted it to be brown again. it worked really well and none of the black showed up on the towels or anything except it had a slightly reddish tint to it.

Anyone using the John Frieda color shampoo&conditioner for brunette?

How is it? My hair is naturally brown, but i tried to color it to get rif of slightly lighter ends, and it didn't turn out like my nat. color.. Since it's only a little bit off, would these products correct thatAnyone using the John Frieda color shampoo%26amp;conditioner for brunette?
They'll enhance the brown color in your hair with shine. Shine and deep cleaning (or should I say ultra-conditioning) in this product is key to give hair a high-gloss finish- I use it! Though, I have black hair (not very, very jet black as other Asians I know) but it's a soft black with visible brown (especially visible in light). This product actually has brought out the brown color without depositing any color.

You said that you colored your hair, as in you dyed it? I'm asking this because I know that there are temporary dyes and you might have used that. You've colored your ends, if you don't like it you could always trim them a bit...

These products are probably the first I would use if I were you, I don't suppose it will guarantee to correct the color to match your natural hair color since the ends are dyed; but it's worth a shot! This is a great series to bring out your brilliant brunette (haha, how lame of me).Anyone using the John Frieda color shampoo%26amp;conditioner for brunette?
i don't think it would correct it, but i really like it just for the condition it leaves my hair in
no, these products won't add or correct any color. They are simply meant to enhance the rich tones in brunette hair.
my sister used it. she used to get stray grayish hairs, and the shampoo got rid of them.
    what?
I tried it for a similar reason but I don't think it did anything. I've always tried those types of shampoos but never had any luck. If it's really that bad, you might want to trim the ends off.

What shampoo will make your hair color lighter ?

My friend told me there are shampoos that can make your hair color turn a little lighter and make it look like you have natural highlights. He used one once, he has black hair and he ended up having a nice brown texture.

What are these shampoo ? Do they have chamomile ? I live in an area that is dominantly Mexican (I'm not Mexican though, so I don't know my way around their stores yet) and I figure such shampoo must exist somewhere in my neighborhood if they are not sold in your average Target or Walmart.

Product to remove shampoo build up for color treated hair?

My hair is colored black and I've tried using several different shampoos and conditioners for color treated hair but they all leave a sticky/oily residue at the scalp. Any suggestions on a products to use to remove the build up without fading my black hair and what shampoo to use for color treated hair that does not leave build up?Product to remove shampoo build up for color treated hair?
You have to use a clarifying shampoo - yes this will strip out some colour but you can resolve that by using a black semi - permanent afterwards, this will also do your hair good and give it shine, or skip the shampoo and just use the semi, it strips out build up too. I think the one mentioned above is probably a semi.

In future use a shampoo for dark hair, these have added plant colour that keeps your hair black and you don't get build up, Aveda do a great one (Black Malva) and Jason (a natural range from health food shops) do one also. Never use a 2 in 1 shampoo/conditioner they are the worst, or any product with silicones in.Product to remove shampoo build up for color treated hair?
Unfortunately, because black (the worst possible hair colour) contains a lot of ingredients that are not in any other colour, it creates untold problems for the people -- most of whom don't know the difference!

One common solution to clean off any build-up from any product is baking soda (bicarbonate of soda). Mix about a tablespoon in a glass of warm water and then run that through your hair. You may want to work it well into the most affected areas. This loosens any foreign material on the hair, and then you can easily rinse it out. Some people like to use it BEFORE a shampoo and then shampoo it out.

Too many of the commercial shampoos are not good for you. They make the hair feel slick (the build-up) but that means it is leaving a coating on the hair. You want a plain simple ordinary basic shampoo without any of the additives that only increase the cost and don't contribute anything to making your hair clean. I also feel that most people use far too much shampoo on their hair, and don't rinse it out fully, and are shampooing their hair far too often. Some shampoos are extremely difficult to remove, so use only what you need (too expensive to waste) and make sure you rinse very well. Use the vinegar rinse periodically (it can dry your hair if used too often) to clean off any excess shampoo, and use the baking soda periodically as well just to be sure everything is kept clean and doesn't build-up for you.
I really like L'oreal Vitamino Colour, which you can buy at hairdressers. It removes build up and leaves hair in really good condition.
Try a kelating Shampoo. Mastey has a good one, called 'Use me first'.

Has anybody used H%26amp;S on professionaly colored hair? Does it make it fade really bad? Will Head and Shoulders shampoo make my color fade?
if you are going to use head and shoulders because you have dandruff, try using 1.) T gel (it can be found at target, it comes in a box. it is a brown color but it works really well). 2.) or you can use mouth wash. i know that sounds weird but i use it and i promise it gets rid of dandruff. shampoo your hair first and then put the mouth was and rub in and then rise out and then condition your hair!!

hope this helps! Will Head and Shoulders shampoo make my color fade?
No, it won't make your color fade. It's actually my favorite shampoo, over any other ones that are specifically made for color treated hair. It keeps my hair softer when it's colored than they do. I just had my hair dyed professionally a few weeks ago -- red, which is a hard color to keep from fading -- and kept using H%26amp;S and my color hasn't yet faded. It's the same when I color it myself, too. For as well as H%26amp;S works, it's pretty gentle.
no it wont make your hair fade! it doesnt have strong enough chemicals to do that....

my cousin has her hair done every month professionally and thats her best choice in shampoos so im guessing she trusts in it!
Any shampooo can do this, so use a shampoo specifically for color treated hair.
It depends on how often you shampoo. But no it shouldn't. the more you shampoo the less vibrant your color will be.
your a licensed cosmetologist and you dont know this
it does very badly i had blonde highlights and it turned a lot of them a grayish color

Aveda makes personalized shampoos and conditioners which match your color treated hair. You have to get it at an Aveda salon and someone qualified has to mix the color for you. I use it and love it! A friend mixed it for me, and my stylist is always complementing how well my color stays.

Well, I personally ADORE Pantene Pro V.

On the front of the label, it should say, 'for coloured treated hair'

I remember when I first dyed my hair and a week after I dyed it, I went to the supermarket and saw Pantene Pro V and wanted to give it a go, and it went perfectly well with my hair.

Smells great, makes hair look smooth and very shiny.
I have colored my hair so many times I thought nothing could bring it back to the way it was. Pantene is the best for my hair. It has brought back my shine and helped with friz. Also Garnier Fructis is awesome. I switch back and forth every two months. They are both so expensive, so sometimes I will buy the equate version and it works about the same.
Anything that will return your hair to its natural color. Why do women dye they're beautiful natural hair. I think you guys do it for other women cus we guys like it natural. Go ahead a survey guys and see for yourself.
i've been dying my hair for years and what has worked best for me is Herbal Essences specifically for color treated/permed/damaged hair or Tres Emme for color treated or dry damaged hair--- these are both bought at wal mart or target and quite affordable
Of course I would recommend products from a salon, they're of higher quality - less water, more quality ingredients. But anyways, you need to get products for your hair that says for color-treated on the bottle.
If you are a 'woman-of-color' anything by DARK %26amp; LOVELY will work.

These shampoos are moisture-rich and gentle on color-treated hair.

Will small amount of shampoo fade hair color?

I just had my hair color corrected. I dyed it yesterday and it came out waaaayyy too dark. I went to a salon today and had it corrected (or at least it's better). Can I use a small amount of shampoo that's for color treated hair in the morning? Will small amount of shampoo fade hair color?
Right after you get your hair dyed, you can go home and wash it. It can take out some of the darkness. I suggest getting some good hair conditionair. Claroal now offers their hair dye conditionair in a seperate containair from their hair dye, and it really works good and is cost effective (like around 5 bucks at Wal-Mart). Then, just give your hair about a good 6-8 weeks of doing nothing do it but just babying it. Let it be for a while and even stay away from the heat of blow dryers and so forth if you can. Then, you can go to a salon and they can either lift it again or you can opt for some high lights. There is a new product on the market that is made to remoce color. DO NOT USE IT! It is made for color put over natural hair color, thus your results could end you up with some fried yellow/orange/lord only knows color hair. My heart goes out to you, though. I have been there many times. But in time, esp being in the sun, and washing it out, the color will fade to be a good shade to two lighter. Just hang in there. Will small amount of shampoo fade hair color?
It does not matter how much shampoo you put in your hair; it will always get washed out!! But I do suppose that only putting a little bit in will help not to wash so much of the dye out....
Wait 24-48 hours, and then wash it. The amount of shampoo won't matter.

What's the best shampoo+conditioner for color treated hair that's dry and damaged?

DON'T DO HERBAL ESSANCES!!! herbal essances really is cheap stuff, and is certainly NOT for colored treated hair.

I've tried many different salon brands, and wasn't impressed with any of them honestly, even Paul Mitchell or John Frieda. But out of the salon brands, Paul Mitchell is the best.

I recommend Aussie. Some consider it a salon brand, some don't. I think it's ';salon quallity'; but I don't consider it a ';salon brand'; because you can find it at any drugstore really.

You should go for a moisturizing shampoo and condition, preferably a leave-in conditioner. My fave product is Biolage, which has a leave-in reconstructor( deep condition) and there should be a moisturizing shampoo as well. And/or for dry/damaged hair shampoo. Because if your coloring on your own, chances are your not applying it correctly, and leaving it on too long!

I just colored my hair and it's quite brassy and reddish. Will shampooing right away (as opposed to waiting the normal 48 hours after dying) help strip some of the color intensity? If you shampoo your hair soon after coloring it, will the color be less intense?
Yes. You should wait as long as you can after coloring your hair to wash it. If it is too brassy, go back to your salon and have them fix it. It sounds like they didn't tone it enough after applying the color. If you shampoo your hair soon after coloring it, will the color be less intense?
Yes, it will fade a little everytime you wash it, but if it's brassy you will probably have to get it fixed at a salon.
You dont say what you started out with and what color you got. Brassiness is for a few reasons. If your hair is brown, its due to a lack of color deposit so your color will get more brassy as it fades.
it may wash all of the color out....

a toner might be a better option....

Hello, you should try using Unicure Blue or Natural Shampoo along with Unicure Hair and Skin Conditioner as both a leave in and wash out conditioner its grease less, perfume, fragrance, and color free. Definitely the best! and a very reasonable price about $5 a bottle 12oz.
ok. there is a shampoo and conditioner called Kerastase's Bain Miroir.

it has made it onto many ';best'; lists over the years, including In Style Magazine at least two years in a row.

Specially formulated for color-treated hair, Bain Miroir works by coating strands, which protects them from the stripping some cheaper shampoos may cause. Bain Miroir also protects from UV rays and pollutants.

My mom uses it. its not expensive for us because were rich (not trying to sound selfish but...) but for you idk.
I like to use Tresemme for Color Treated Hair. It protects your hair from UV and it adds back the moisture. It makes my hair shine and feel soft. It helps to rinse with cool, (not freezing cold) water. They have other products to protect your hair when it comes to styling as well. It's cheap, it ranges from $3-4 each, and they're pretty big bottles.

I dye my hair once a year - that's how well the color stays in. I don't do it at the salon, I do it at home. I always use Garnier though to dye my hair. I'm not sure if it's the shampoo I use or the dye. But I love it. My hair is thick and dark so it's really hard to get and keep in the color.
Visit your local beauty supply store and get moisturizing or color-treated shampoo and conditioner from there. Store purchases are way to heavy for normal hair, and there is too much wax and oil in them. Lots of shine from the oil, but lots of build-up when the bottle is empty.
my favorite is neutrogena triple moisture. it doesn't say right on the front of the products that it's meant for colored hair, but it does wonders for colored hair. they make shampoo, conditioner, leave in serum, a deep conditioner and a deep conditioning weekly mask. i have the whole line, it keeps my hair looking great! good luck!
well, it depends on what you want.

I like clairols, and they sell it seperate from the colour. or you could use john frieda clear gloss. Or you could make your own colour depositing shampoo. i know some hairstylists who if you ask will even make it for you. to do it yourself you will need some hair dye, like from a box. then add about a table spoon for every cup of shampoo, as you dont want it too strong. or you could just ask your hairstylist for them to make it, if you would rather err on the side of caution. Hope i helped :)What is a really good shampoo/condition that is for color treated hair and that locks in color?
